Garden 1

Clearance and landscaping

BEFORE

A wild area of the garden untouched for years was required to be turned into a garden area with a garden shed, a gravel pathway running around it, and a chicken pen and hutch added.

AFTER

Trees / bushed were lopped, ground was fertilised leveled and turfed. Shed was erected, pathway made, weed protection laid down, gravel purchased and placed. Chicken area was posted and wired in and chicken hutch was purchased and put in. Even the chickens were brought and put in their new home, with advise on how to look after them.

Garden 2

Clearance and Turfing

Before

This garden was covered with stones, previously placed to avoid having to cut the lawn. The new owners then decided to remove all the stones and called us in.

grass turfing

After removing all the stones we removed the weed matting to reveal the hard compacted ground below for the first time in quite a while. We then set about aerating and de-compacting the soil. This was then flattened and smoothed ready for the laying of the turf.

We then fertilised the ground and began laying the turf to fit the winding shape of the garden.

The finished product has taken well and looks lush and green, a far cry from the unappealing stones which were there the day before.

The garden has been transformed into somewhere great for wildlife. The dot planting suits thecambridge city garden very well. Although we prefer grass we understand some places it just wont grow or is not desired. This is a great alternative!

Garden 4

Maintenance, Pruning, Planting

Before

The garden had completely over grown. The garden was supposed to be an 'easy maintenance' garden but left un-pruned soon grew into a rambling wilderness.

After

The honey suckle, ivy, ragged robin and cherry tree (un-fruiting) were all removed. This left the other plants free to breath and be seen. The buddleia was asked to be partially left as there was a bird nesting in it. We will return to cut it down when the bird and chick(s) have left the nest.
